Rockton Agricultural Society Youth Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the Rockton Agricultural Society Youth Scholarship. 
This scholarship is available to anyone 25 years of age or under (as of Dec. 28, 2008), who is attending post secondary education in the 2008-2009 school year.  Please read these instructions carefully, as incomplete applications will not be considered. 

 In order to apply, you must submit the completed application form (you may add more pages to the application if necessary), a resume, and an essay.  The essay is to be no more than one page, typed, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, and 12 pt font.  The subject of the essay this year is:

 HOW COULD ROCKTON AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
BECOME A YEAR ROUND FAMILY TRADITION?

Your application must include two references, at least one of whom must be a RAS associate.
References should not be immediate family members.

 Unsuccessful applicants may reapply for the Youth Scholarship in subsequent applicable years, however, recipients of this award may not reapply.  The selection committee will look at all applications, and top candidates will be invited for an interview.  Successful applicants will be asked for verification of acceptance and entrance to their school of choice.  Any misrepresentation may be grounds for disqualification of scholarship as per the RAS Scholarship Committee.

Applications must be received at the RAS office by 4:30PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2008.   Winners will be notified by August 31, 2008.  The official presentation will take place at the opening ceremonies of the Rockton World’s Fair, at 7:00PM October 10, 2007.
