Section 69 – WOMEN’S INSTITUTE DISPLAY

1. No entry fee.
2. Each Institute to be awarded $30.00 for setting up display.
3. Each Institute will be responsible for its display.
4. Each display will be given a background space of approximately
4 feet by 4 feet.
5. Each Institute will be provided with identification card.
6. Only two members to be permitted to set up display. Two admission tickets for each W.I. for persons taking out display.
7. The complete display must be set up Thurs., Oct. 8th, 1p.m. - 9p.m.
8. “The Christie Hamilton Memorial Trophy” and $10.00 to be awarded to the Institute having the most points ‑ 2nd, $7.00; 3rd, $5.00; 4th, $3.00
9. Handmade articles and specimens of Ladies’ work must be bonafide property of the exhibitor and be made or worked by the exhibitor.
10. Each category requires one article.
11. Special by Wentworth District Women’s Institute - award to 3 Exhibitors with outstanding articles in Institute display.
DISPLAY ENTRY FORMS TO BE SENT TO THE FAIR GENERAL MANAGER, ROCKTON, LOR IXO BY OCTOBER 2nD, 2009.
THEME: “EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN”
1. Arrangement of display.
2. Sign stating theme of display.
3. Pair of quilted placemats (machine or hand quilted).
Special: Kay Legg Memorial Prize $20 gift certificate from Mary Maxim donated by the former Mountsberg Women’s Institute and the late Geoff Legg.
4. Crocheted tea cozy.
5. Scrapbook page depicting 3 Generations, not to exceed 12” x 12”.
6. Dried Flower Arrangement in an antique container, not to exceed 12”.
7. Pair of Men’s socks, hand knitted.
8. 4 scones on a suitable plate (no raisins).
9. 250 ml jar of strawberry jam.
Special: $20.00 Prize – Judge’s choice best knitted or crocheted article in memory of Lorene Thompson. |
