GENERAL RULES:
A. All entry forms must be received by the Rockton Agricultural Society General
Manager, Bob Campbell, P.O. Box 38, Rockton, Ont., LOR 1XO, (519) 647-2502 by
Fri. Sept. 21. Each late entry will be charged $1.00 per item.
B. Exhibits will be received in the Farm and Home building from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30
p.m. on Fri. Oct. 3, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sat. Oct. 4, 2008
C. No identification mark or printing of
any kind is permitted on the front of any print.
D. Electronic Images must be submitted in person as JPEGs on a CD. Image
size 1024 pixels wide or 768 pixels high. Name images starting with class
# - class name - exhibitor # e.g.. 47 - nature - 123. Original photos must
be produced by a camera and taken by the exhibitor. Finished images could
come from a digital camera or scanned from slides or prints. Digital
enhancement is allowed.
E. Images previously shown at Rockton World's Fair will not be accepted.
The judgment of the photography committee, in this regard, will be final.
F. All photographs must be taken by the exhibitor. All entries submitted by the
same exhibitor must be distinctly different from each other. Identical
photos/images may not be entered under different classes.
G. Digital alterations on prints must be limited to traditional darkroom
techniques. Cloning, brushes, layering and other non-traditional darkroom
techniques will not be accepted in the Photography part of the
competition, except Class 42.
H. An Exhibitor may enter one entry per class.
I. Photographs/Images which are considered to be objectionable or offensive will
not be allowed to compete or be displayed.
J. All competitions (photographs & digital images) are for true amateurs only.
Consistent top award winners as determined by the Committee in Open Amateur
Competition Classes, will be required to limit entries to Advanced
Competition classes only, except Class 20.
K. All General Rules apply.
L. All prize winning entries will be displayed. Others will be displayed as
space permits.
M. No Photos/Images with frames, glass or hanging devices of any kind will be
accepted.
N. Judging will be based on composition, content, originality and, technical
skill.

JUNIOR
COMPETITION
(Open to contestants 21 years
of age and under as of Sept. 30, 2008.)
RULES:
A. Visible print size to be a minimum of 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" to a maximum of 4" x
6".
B. Prints shall be mounted on medium or heavy weight paper. Mounts 1/2" minimum
shall not extend
more than 2" beyond the print on any side in Classes 1 to 5 and
Class 6. No frame or glass allowed.
COLOUR PHOTO PRINTS (CLASSES 1 to 7)

3. Pets or Pet
4. Humorous
5. Any Other Subject (not to include subjects from classes 1-4)
6. Collection of three (3) colour prints related by content or theme, and
mounted on one card not exceeding 150 sq. inches in area
SPECIAL - THE PRESTEDGE TROPHY (perpetual) to exhibitor winning the most
points in Junior Classes 1 to 5.
A "Keeper" plaque is also awarded. Donated by Mrs. Prestedge,
Greensville, in memory of her husband, Jim
SPECIAL - (Classes 1-5) Best Photograph in Junior Competition, $25

OPEN AMATEUR COMPETITION

Rules: Visible print size: minimum 5" x 5" to a maximum of 5" x 8"- Mounts shall be a minimum of 1/2", not to exceed 2" beyond the print on
any side. No frame or glass allowed. Entrants in any Advanced Classes (35-51)
may not enter Snapshot Classes (10-15)
