QUILTS - AFGHANS - RUGS -WALL HANGINGS

RULES:
1. The exhibitor must complete all work unless otherwise specified. 
    Please no straight pins.
2. Judges may disqualify old or soiled entries.
3. A Champion and Reserve Champion Hand and Machine Quilt will be picked from all eligible entries.  The Champion quilts in each section will then go on to compete at the OAAS (Ontario association of Agricultural Societies) District 6 competition.  If an exhibitor does not wish their quilt to compete please state so before the judging takes place.
4. Hand Quilt Classes 1- 8 must be a minimum 72”x90” to compete at the OAAS District 6 level.
5. Machine Quilt classes 9-14 must be a minimum 48”x48” to compete at the OAAS District 6 level.  No professional long arm.
6. If a winning quilt is not able to go on then the Reserve Champion quilt will go in its place.
7. If a winner at the District level, the quilt is then eligible to go to the Annual OAAS Convention for judging. For full rules and regulations go to OntarioFairs.com.
Additional Specials:
Most points in Section 75, $30 gift certificate from Fabricland, Brantford.
Second most points in Section 75, $25 gift certificate from The Quilt Rack, Ancaster.
Third most points in Section 75, $25 gift certificate from Lyn Bell Creative Sewing Studio, St. George.
Additional $10 to the Grand Champion Hand and Machine Quilt from the Ladies of the Fair.
Classes 1 ‑ 14: Prizes: 1st, $20; 2nd, $17; 3rd, $13; 4th, $11.

Hand Quilts Minimum size ‑ 72" x 90".

Quilt, pieced and appliquéd. Additional 1st prize $10 by Carol Kelly.
3. Quilt, exhibitor’s choice, PATTERN NAMED attached to quilt.

4. Quilt, judged on quilting only, First time Exhibitor of Quilts. (Cheater Quilt accepted).
5. Quilt, pieced and quilted by a group.
6. Quilt, tied.
7. Quilt, sampler pattern.
Additional 1st prize $10 by Joanne Brown.
8.  Quilt, scrappy.
SPECIAL Most Points in Classes 1 to 8 $10 by Lori Alyce.

Machine Quilts Minimum size 48”x48”, No Long Arm, Quilted by the Exhibitor

9. Quilt, machine appliquéd. Additional 1st prize $10 by Erma Ireland.
10. Quilt, machine pieced and quilted. Additional 1st prize $10 by Muriel Hamilton.
11. Quilt, machine “quilt as you go”.
12. Quilt, sampler pattern.
13. Quilt, done by a group, pattern named.
14. Quilt, judged on quilting only.

Classes 15 ‑ 35—Prizes: 1st, $12; 2nd, $10; 3rd, $9; 4th, $7.

17. Quilt, approximately single bed size – machine quilted.
18. Rag quilt.
19. Afghan, made with squares.
20. Afghan, crocheted.
21. Afghan, ripple pattern only. Additional 1st prize $10 by Muriel Hamilton.
22. Afghan, knitted . Additional 1st prize $10 by Rockton Women’s Institute.
23. Baby Carriage cover, knitted.  Approximately 30”x30”.
24. Baby Carriage cover, crocheted,.  Approximately 30”x30”.

Wall Hangings not to exceed 48” x 48”, must be unframed and ready to hang, rod not needed.

32. Wall Hanging, machine. Additional 1st prize $10 by Joyce Nisbet.
33. Wall Hanging, hand quilted.
34. Wall Hanging, using cross stitch and/or embroidery.
35. Wall Hanging, not using cross stitch, any other kind, theme
   “4 Generations Working for Generations”.  Special $5 by Ladies of the Fair.
